High Court Judge, Human rights and gender equality activist. Currently, Director of Centro de Formacao Juridica e Judiciaria-CFJJ- The Judicial Training Institute of Mozambique. As Director of the CFJJ she’s also Member of the advisory council of the Ministry of Justice. She’s the Executive Secretary of the Mozambican Judges Association and member of the advisory council of International Association for Court Administration- IACA. Prior to her appointment as the Head of the Judicial Training Institute she serves in various roles in the judiciary of Mozambique as Judge President of Judicial Districts Courts of Bilene-Macia and Machava in Maputo Provincial Court. Here she Judged matters concerning with the family, Juvenile Justice, domestic violence and other types of crimes. She’s Former Member of the Judicial Commission (Conselho Superior da Magistratura Judicial) and of its Permanent Commission and here she also was part of the Commission in charge to draft the regulation of appointment of judges. She’s been working as activist and facilitator of the training of judges and police about LGBT rights in collaboration with LAMbda- LGBT Association of Mozambique. She’s also founding member of Women Judges Forum who act in Domestic Violence in Mozambican judiciary. She was speaker in various workshops about gender violence, Culture and Human Rights, Domestic Violence, Juvenal Justice and court proceedings and also judicial training for judges and other judicial servants. She has year’s experiences leading projects relating to “Childs in Contact and conflict with the Law “and also Women’s victims of Domestic Violence. She has some publications about Rule of Law and Traditional Practices; The application of the Domestic Violence Law (published in the 2015 Women Agenda entitled Rule of Law and Traditional Practices and WLSA Magazine Other Voices no. 43-44). She holds a Law degree from the Catholic University of Portugal-OPORTO and a Master Degree in Human Rights from the Eduardo Mondlane University, in Mozambique.
