GIUSEPPE M. FAZARI, Ph.D.
Dr. Fazari is also faculty for the National Center for State Courts where he teaches caseflow management and court performance standards. He has served as a consultant for several domestic and international organizations that span more than 5 continents including the Rodrigo Lara Bonilla Judicial Training School of Colombia, Supreme Court in Ukraine, and the Federal Judiciary and National Industrial Court of Nigeria where his areas of expertise included case management, court security, jury management, strategic management, and business process reengineering. He was a Lead Developer and Subject-Matter Expert for the National Association for Court Management’s (NACM) Core Competencies for Court Administrators. He has been published in the Court Manager, International Journal for Court Administration, Campus Law Enforcement Journal, and Federal Probation journals, the National Center for State Courts’ report series Trends in State Courts, and co-authored the NACM professional guides on artificial intelligence, business continuity management, court administration, court security, media, and chaired the publication Achieving and Sustaining the Green Court. Dr. Fazari is the writer, director and producer of the award-winning feature documentaries, Why They Kill and Hole in My World – both of which are based on the books by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Richard Rhodes. He is co-author of the book, Historical Dictionary of American Criminal Justice (2019), author of Courthouse Confidential: Unveiling Lessons Learned in Leading and Managing Trial Court Organizations (2022), and co-author of Fundamentals of Modern Court Administration (2027). He holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Seton Hall University where he also earned a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. He is a Harvard-trained consultant and completed a postgraduate certificate in U.S. law and methodologies from New York University. He is a Fellow of the Institute for Court Management and was the recipient of the Vice-President’s Award of Merit for Applied Research. He is a Past President of the New Jersey Association of Criminal Justice Educators and was awarded the Jack A. Mark Award in recognition for his contributions to the field of criminal justice. Presently, he serves as Vice President for the North America Regional Board of the International Association for Court Administration (IACA) and is on the Board of Trustees for the Center for Family Services, Inc. |
Giuseppe M. Fazari is a professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Monmouth University. He was previously a faculty member of Seton Hall University where he also served as Assistant Dean of Continuing Education and Professional Studies. Before working in academia, he was the Trial Court Administrator (TCA), Chief Administrative Officer for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Union Vicinage where he had overall responsibility in the areas of caseflow management, court facilities, projects and services, financial management, human resources, information systems, jury utilization, probation services, and records management. Prior to being appointed TCA, he served the New Jersey Judiciary for 10 years in Essex Vicinage, the most voluminous district of the state, which averaged 150,000 filings a year among its case management divisions. During his tenure in Essex, Dr. Fazari served in the Criminal, Civil, and Operations Divisions, eventually culminating his employment in the district as the Assistant Trial Court Administrator, Chief Operations Officer.
